Mini Mew

The second mini Pokémon I made! Sorry I messed up his left eye, I'm not too good at embroidering. I think he's so cute, and he'll fit right in your pocket or on a keychain! Enjoy!

Mini Mew

Materials:
F hook (3.75 mm or #5) [optional - and an E hook for the tail (3.5 mm or #4)]
Scissors
Yarn needle
WW yarn in pink, blue, and a little bit of white
Polyester fiberfill

Notes:
Gauge isn't that important, just so long as your stitches are tight so that the stuffing won't show or fall out.
The (parentheses) at the end of each Rnd/Row indicate the number of stitches at the end of that Rnd/Row.
I work in continuous rounds (aka spiral rounds), but if your prefer to join at the end of each round that's fine. I also decrease in front loops only because I've heard that it makes the decrease stitch less visible.
If you don't know what a Magic Ring is don't panic! It's also called Magic Loop or Magic Circle. Here's an alternative: If the pattern says 6 sc in Magic Ring you can ch 2 and 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook and join stitches. I prefer working with a Magic Ring because you can pull it as tight as you want so that the stuffing won't show. Most people I have tried to teach the Magic Ring to throw their crochet hooks and yarn on the floor in a huffy, but I myself find it fairly easy depending on how many stitches are in it. If you'd like to learn how to make one I found THIS LINK very helpful. The only person I've had success with teaching is my sister. Just use whatever you feel most comfortable using.

I used the following terms in this pattern: sc (single crochet), ch (chain), F/O (fasten off), MR (Magic Ring), inc (2 sc in next sc), and dec (decrease over next two stitches).

Head:
Rnd 1: 4 sc in MR (4)
Rnd 2: inc around (8)
Rnd 3: sc in 1, inc around (12)
Rnd 4: sc in 2, inc around (16)
Rnd 5: sc in 3, inc around (20)
Rnd 6-7: sc in each around (20)
Rnd 8: sc in 3, dec around (16) begin stuffing
Rnd 9: sc in 2, dec around (12)
Rnd 10: sc in 1, dec around (8)
F/O. Weave end in last rnd and pull to close.

Body:
Rnd 1: 5 sc in MR (5)
Rnd 2: inc around (10)
Rnd 3: sc in 1, inc around (15)
Rnd 4-6: sc in each (15) begin stuffing
Rnd 7: sc in 1, dec around (10)
Rnd 8-11: sc in each around (10) begin nape of neck (optional)
Rnd 12: sc in next 4, ch 1, turn (4)
Rnd 13: sc in 4 (4)
F/O. Weave end in last rnd and pull to close.
Sew head to body, positioning it so that the nose points down at a slight angle.

Ears:
Row 1: ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (3)
Row 2: dec in 1st, sc in last (2)
Row 3: dec (1)
F/O with long enough tail to sew to head. Sew to head.

Legs:
Rnd 1: 4 sc in MR (4)
Rnd 2: sc in 1, inc around (6)
Rnd 3-5: sc in each around (6) begin stuffing
Rnd 6: flatten end and sc through both sides of crochet (3) F/O.

Feet:
Rnd 1: 4 sc in MR (4)
Rnd 2: sc in 1, inc around (6)
Rnd 3-6: sc in each around (6) begin stuffing
Rnd 7: flatten end and sc through both sides of crochet (3) F/O.
Sew feet to legs at flattened ends and sew legs to body.

Hands:
Row 1: ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (3)
Row 2-3: sc in each (3)
Row 4: ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next st, ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next st, ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook and last st. F/O. Roll hand in cylindrical shape and sew both sides together. Sew hands to the body.

Tail:
Rnd 1: 4 sc in MR (4)

Embroider eyes in blue yarn to head and add a bit of white for the shine.

Mini Torchic

Recently I've been wanting to make tiny amigurumi, so I thought "Why not make a Torchic?" This is the outcome! Hope you like it! :) If the pattern is confusing, let me know and I'll fix it so that it's not.

Mini Torchic

F hook (3.75 mm or #5)
WW or DK weight yarn in orange, yellow, black, and white (I used Red Heart Carrot, Black, White, and some yellow yarn I had lying around.)
Yarn needle
Polyester fiberfill (pillows!)
Scissors
LOTS of patience!

Rnd 4: sc in 5, inc in next around (14)
Rnd 5-6: sc in each around (14)
Rnd 7: sc in 5, dec around (12) begin stuffing
Rnd 8: dec around (6)
F/O. Weave in last row and pull to close.

Head: using orange,
Rnd 1: 5 sc in MR (5)
Rnd 2: inc in each around (10)
Rnd 3: sc in 4, inc in next around (12)
Rnd 4: sc in 5, inc in next around (14)

Rnd 8: sc in 1, dec around (10)
Rnd 9: dec around (5)
F/O. Weave in last row and pull to close.
Sew the head to the body.

Head Piece: using yellow,
Row 1: ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across, sc in side of foundation (4) do not ch 1 or turn
Row 2: ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next, sc in next st in foundation ch, sc in next ch in foundation, ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next 2, sc in same stitch in foundation ch, sc in next ch in foundation, ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next, sc in same stitch in foundation ch. F/O. Weave in ends.
Sew head piece to top of head. Using your yarn needle, thread some orange yarn through the head piece to make it look like the real thing.

Beak: using yellow,
Rnd 1: 4 sc in MR (4)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in 1st st, sc in next st, 2 sc in next, sc in last (6)
F/O. Sew to head - not in a circle, but in an oval-like shape, just like it is depicted in the anime.

Legs: using yellow,
ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (4) F/O.

Talons: using yellow,
ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (4) do not ch 1 or turn
ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next, sc in same st, ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next, sc in same st, ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next, sc in same st. F/O.
Sew talons to legs and legs to body.

Feathers/Collar: using yellow,
ch however many sts it'll take to wrap around your Torchic's neck, ch some and sc in 2nd ch from hook and the others then sc in same st. I recommend chaining no more than 5, as it began looking too big for him. Sew to neck, leaving a gap at the front. Thread some orange yarn onto your yarn needle and stitch a few stitches right underneath the front of his head where the gap is, just as the picture shows.

Tail: using orange,
Rnd 1: sc 4 in MR (4)
Rnd 2: sc in first st, inc in next, sc in next, inc in last (6) F/O.
Stuff lightly and sew to back of body.
